Bristol Animal Rescue Centre

Bristol Animal Rescue Centre (Bristol A.R.C.) has been dedicated to caring for our city's rescued animals and wildlife for over 130 years. They do not receive any funding from the RSPCA and rely on donations, fundraising and legacies to continue operating. As a company full of pet lovers, we are proud to support Bristol Animal Rescue Centre by providing a free Will to anyone leaving a donation to the charity.

Jessie May

Jessie May provides vital at-home care for children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, and their families, across Bristol and the South West. We believe Jessie May makes a difference in our community, and we are delighted to support the charity’s mission by providing free Wills to their supporters who choose to leave a legacy in their Will.

The Cinnamon Trust

The Cinnamon Trust is the only national charity that supports older people, the terminally ill, and their pets. Their work sustains the essential bond between older people and their cherished pets through challenging circumstances. For this reason, we are proud to support their work by providing free Wills to individuals who choose to leave a legacy to The Trust.

Our history

ELM Legal Services have been helping people for over 20 years. Find out more about our history below.

2000

In 2000 ELM was founded by Jim Emsley.

2005

ELM joins the Society of Will Writers, a self-regulatory organisation whose primary objectives are the advancement, education and ethical standards within the will writing profession.

2010

ELM joins the Professional association of Legal Services (PALS).

2011

ELM is awarded with the Investors in People certification. Since 1991 Investors in People has set the standard for better people management.

2015

ELM relocated to our extensive city centre premises.

2018

ELM joins the Insititute of Professional Willwriters. The Institute of Professional Willwriters was founded in 1991 as a self-regulatory body to safeguard the public from unqualified practitioners and unethical business practices and has established itself as the recognised professional body regulating and promoting the profession of Willwriting in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

2018

ELM is shortlisted for Will Writing Firm of the Year (South) at the British Wills & Probate Awards 2018.

2019

ELM is awarded by the Parliamentary Review. The Parliamentary Review recognises the best practice of organisations across the private and public sectors.

The doors open at our new head office in Fishponds, Bristol.
